A lifelong fisherman discovered a very unusual, completely blue crab, which experts estimate has a one in two million chance of being discovered.
After retrieving an extremely rare blue lobster from the ocean, one fisherman was left speechless.
The capture was “a surprise to everyone”, according to Stuart Brown, 28, from Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland.
After being raised in a pot off the north shore of the lake, the incredible creature was discovered near Blackhead Lighthouse.
However, since the lobster was too small to keep, he was forced to let her back into the ocean after taking her photos.
He said: “He’s still swimming in the lake somewhere, happy as can be. I hope that whoever captures it also returns it.
His boat was between 15 and 18 meters deep when the capture was made.
He stated the following about the discovery: “I slipped the pot over to the crewman who took it out and he commented, ‘That’s extremely blue.
“I replied, ‘Yes, no problem,’ while turning to look at him. But I looked at it again and said, “That’s too blue.”
An experienced fisherman who started his career when he was just 11 years old, he continued: “There were lobsters out there that didn’t look normal, they would be a little more brown or more red, just something unusual about them, but nothing. so severe
A one in two million risk of contracting it revealed itself when I googled it.
One of the “weird and wonderful things” discovered in the water, according to the County Down seafood company shareholder, may now be crossed off his list.
Some lobsters may be born a different color from the more commonly seen brown or red varieties due to genetic variations.
Since there is a difference, different proteins are produced at different rates.
It was definitely a lucky day for Stuart, since according to scientists, the chance of getting a blue lobster is one in two million.
