Isuzu D-Max Mudmaster is a special version for off-road enthusiasts in the UK market.
Isuzu UK continues to affirm its position in the pickup truck industry with the introduction of the special edition Isuzu D-Max Mudmaster.
Although the upgraded version of the D-Max will be available in many other markets from the end of 2023, the Mudmaster is still based on the old model but is equipped with many additional accessories to enhance off-road capabilities.
Mudmaster is developed from the top V-Cross version of the D-Max. Highlights of this version include a snorkel to help the car cross water easily, a rear cover, roof rack, additional LED lights and a winch hidden under the metal license plate that can be raised.
In addition, the car is also equipped with additional protection, steel underbody protection, wind shield, fender extension, side steps, white Isuzu badge and Mudmaster decals on both sides.
In particular, the car uses 20-inch Hurricane alloy wheels covered with Toyo Open Country A/T III tires. This new wheel-tire set is supported by Pedders off-road shock absorbers, which increase ground clearance by 1.75 inches (45 mm).
The Mudmaster’s interior has also been upgraded with blackout panels, rubber mats and heavy-duty seat covers, providing durability and convenience for off-road trips. The rest of the cabin remains the same as the V-Cross version, including a modern 9-inch infotainment system.
Under the hood of the Mudmaster is a standard 1.9-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 162 horsepower (121 kW / 164 PS) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque.
The standard 4WD drive system is combined with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, providing powerful and flexible performance on all terrains.
The Isuzu D-Max Mudmaster is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting from £36,495 ($47,100) for the manual and £38,495 ($49,679) for the automatic.
This price is cheaper than the limited production version Isuzu D-Max Steel Edition, but still offers many valuable features and accessories. Isuzu boasts that the D-Max has one of the most extensive accessory catalogs in the industry, making it the ideal choice for those who enjoy off-roading, camping or overlanding.
The Mudmaster will likely be one of the last special editions of the old D-Max before Isuzu brings the facelifted version to the UK market.
In addition to the diesel model, Isuzu is also working on a fully electric version of the D-Max, expected to launch in 2025. Competitors for this mid-size pickup include the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux , VW Amarok and Mitsubishi L200.
With advanced features and accessories, the Isuzu D-Max Mudmaster will certainly be an attractive choice for those who are passionate about off-road and want to explore new roads.
The Mudmaster’s combination of powerful performance and durable design not only delivers a great driving experience, but also demonstrates Isuzu’s commitment to quality and innovation in the automotive industry.
