A Maine Coon cat with a royal aura

""Lion:"

The Windy City is home to a Maine Coon feline that exudes majesty. This cat is so majestic that he adorns himself with the most exquisite faux flower crowns. The Maine Coon breed has an easy way of being charming, cool and dignified, just like Leo. This striking Maine Coon has a huge following on Instagram, and it’s not hard to see why once you see his adorable pictures. While Leo enjoys the spotlight with his crown, he’s always ready to share the spotlight with his siblings: Lucy, Ori, Birdie, Bunnie and Kota. Read on to discover more about Leo and his charming companions.

Could you describe Leo’s character to me? Meet Leo, also known as Leonidas, a six-year-old feline who weighs a whopping 21 pounds. He is a relaxed cat who enjoys lying on the couch and spending time with our catio. However, when he is hungry or wants attention, he can be quite demanding. He often approaches and meows incessantly until he gets what he wants, sometimes accompanied by head butting and paw striking.

When did you first realize that your cat liked flower crowns? Well, to be honest, I don’t think any cat would necessarily enjoy wearing a flower crown, including my own cat Leo. However, he does not object because he knows that he will receive some gifts for his cooperation. It’s kind of like paying a model for her time but with treats instead. It’s important to note that not all cats are as patient as Leo, even when treats are involved. Of all my cats, only Leo is willing to tolerate the flower crown. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the photos give you a brief glimpse of the moment in time. The crown usually stays on Leo’s head for only 5 to 10 seconds before he takes it off and rewards him with treats. Finally, I want to clarify that I am not the one who designs the flower crowns. In fact, I usually buy them from a friend named Yarely who runs @freyasfloralco on Instagram. She has an amazing talent for creating beautiful faux flower crowns.

Could you share with me some information about Lucy, Ori, Birdie, Bunnie Kota? Lucy, who is gray, was adopted from PAWS Chicago when she was 5 years old. I kept her original name from her previous family as she responds well. She is my first cat and she is now 11 years old. Among all my cats, she is the most independent and knows exactly how to get what she wants. Whenever he’s hungry, he’ll come and poke me. Whenever he wants water from the tap, he runs to me and pushes me until I turn it on. And if he wants a warm lap to sit on, he jumps up every time I’m sitting on the couch. Lucy is very accommodating to new cats, as long as they don’t bother her.

I welcomed Ori (Bengal) into my home when he was still a kitten from Leap of Faith Bengals located in California. Since I already named my other cat, Leonidas, a name from Greek mythology, I decided to call Ori “Orion.” However, I wanted her name to be shorter and easier to pronounce, so I gave her a nickname that we all love, “Ori.” Currently, Ori is three years old and is the most playful of the others. He loves to run on his cat wheel and play with Leo and Lucy, although sometimes he annoys them and gets hit on the head. However, Ori is also an excellent adoptive brother. Show kindness to all of our foster cats and kittens by cuddling and grooming them.

Meet my two furry friends, Birdie and Bunnie, who I fostered this year but ended up adopting! Originally named Laverne and Shirley respectively, I had to come up with new names since the rescue already had a kitten named Shirley. I chose Birdie for the white and tabby cat, since she perched on our shoulders like a bird, and Bunnie for the tabby cat, since she jumped up when we called her. Interestingly, another family was almost in the final stages of adopting them, but backed out, which made me so sad that I decided to keep them myself. These two are such loving creatures and have completely won my heart. They also get along great with everyone in the house, so it’s a perfect match!

I have a furry friend named Kota who happens to be my first and only canine companion. When I adopted him as a puppy, I chose his name simply because it sounded good. Kota has grown up around felines and seems to think he’s one of them! It has been a blessing when it comes to acclimating foster cats to the presence of dogs. Surprisingly, he gets along better with cats than other dogs. Kota never leaves my side and has become an integral part of my life. As for anything special about Leo, despite his regal appearance in photos, he’s a total mama’s boy! Nothing makes him happier than being cradled like a baby, face up on my lap or hanging on my shoulder when I’m standing.

I want to express my gratitude to Jane for being kind enough to answer my questions about her beautiful furry friends and allowing me to show her photos to Cattitude Daily readers. If you have a friend who loves cats, feel free to share these images of Leo and his adorable housemates with them. Also, if you’re eager to see more of Leo, Lucy, Ori, Birdie, Bunnie and Kota, don’t forget to follow their Instagram account.
