The older boy had collapsed into the sewer drain in an effort to get some kind of relief from the pain. Gourds gushed from his huge wound.

The dog was practically paralyzed, arthritic and had a significant cut on his back.

He was in agony and was pale and weak, so I carefully took the poor man out of the drain to take him to the veterinary clinic.

The fact that the dog was eaten and that its wound had completely healed only gave them relief in a few weeks.

She would not have had much time to live if she had been helped.
